The Shed, Porthgain

The Shed, Porthgain is a relaxed fish and chip bistro on the quayside overlooking the fishing harbour in the village of Porthgain on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path roughly half way between Fishguard and St Davids.

The Shed is famous for its own caught local fish and shellfish, the lobsters and crabs are caught by Rob the owner throughout the year with Bass & Mackerel during the summer months and landed daily on the quay in front of the Bisto.

Other fish is sourced from nearby Abercastle, Solva and St. Davids – the potatoes used for their excellent chips are also locally sourced.

Other local suppliers include local based wineries and breweries such as Celtic Wine and Templetons, farm butchers based in Fishguard, and fresh vegetables from Penpant in St Davids.

The Shed also serves fresh coffee, teas and homemade cakes – not forgetting Porthgain crab sandwiches.

The restaurant has won numerous awards including – Entry in The Michelin Guide 2007-2015 – AA Wales Seafood Restaurant of The Year 2006 – AA Rosette 2005-2015 – True Taste of Wales Regional Gold Winner 2007.
