Sweethill Farm

Premium Longhorn Beef & Cheviot Lamb - Direct from the Peak District

Nestled high in the rugged hills of the Peak District, Sweethill Farm is a family-run hill farm committed to ethical, sustainable farming and exceptional taste. We raise native Longhorn cattle and Cheviot sheep on open pastures, wildflower meadows, and heathered moorland—just as nature intended.

Our Farming Philosophy

At Sweethill, we believe in low-impact, high-welfare farming. Our animals graze naturally, with no artificial inputs or rushed growth. The result? Beef and lamb with real depth of flavour, incredible tenderness, and full traceability from field to fork.

Cooking Tips from the Farm Kitchen

  1. Bring to Room Temperature – Always let your meat rest at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking for even heat and juicier results.
  2. Low & Slow or Hot & Fast – Use low-and-slow for tough cuts (like brisket or shoulder). Go hot and fast for tender ones (steaks, chops, fillets).
  3. Let it Rest – After cooking, rest your meat under foil for 10–20 minutes. This locks in moisture and flavour.
  4. Don’t Overdo It – Our grass-fed meat cooks faster than supermarket meat – Use a thermometer if you’re unsure.                                                              Rare: 50–52°C                                                                                                Medium: 60°C                                                                                                  Well: 70°C+
