Chirk Castle Farm Shop
Chirk Castle is a commanding structure, an imposing fortress put to great use in the Welsh Marches and has been continuously inhabited since the 1300s. The National Trust property is well worth a visit, with sumptuous décor and Adam-style furniture contrasting strongly with the dingy dungeons below.
But the castle hides another secret – The Chirk Castle Farm Shop is a fantastic little venture, selling all sorts of locally grown produce and locally raised meats.
With locally sourced Welsh beef and lamb and an interesting fruit stand – the mushrooms are another delight, grown as locally as possible – in the garden to the rear of the shop.
